I have wireshark installed from ports on my freeBSD 7.0, but cannot start it due to the following error: Code:
Invalid capture filter: "not ip host "! |

I am not familar with wireshark, but you may want to try using tcpdump(1), it's included in FreeBSD base.

I solved this problem.
in wireshark under options -> capture filter the entry: Code:
not ip host |
