Thanks CarpetSmoker !
geoiplookup is a great tool .. but again checking one's current ip via ,for instance, http://www.whatismyip.com is unavoidable. Is there any tool that combines both ? I mean in the fashion of ip2nation .. it gets your current ip and geolocates it for you ? |

In case you forget in which country you live?
![]() % curl ifconfig.me | geoiplookupor if geoiplookup doesn't read from stdin % geoiplookup `curl ifconfig.me`

Carpetsmoker, I sometimes use tor and because ExculdeNodes fails me I would want to know where I belong while behind proxy so as to avoid distant or troublesome nodes. .. I've been using ip2nation.com but a cli-tool would be better . one more way but not quite what I wanted : $ curl ip.appspot.com which prints out public ip .. then I just geoiplookup it. |
