Is is a safe habit to build more than one port at a time ? Thanks |

Yes, if you are a good understanding of the sequence of build targets within an individual port, and you have a clear understanding of the resulting operational implications. I'm not sure you have that. Otherwise, this question would not have arisen.
It appears you have not taken sufficient time with ports(7) and bsd.port.mk(5), otherwise you would have learned about the environment variables used to control bulk package building. If you have many hundreds or thousands of packages to build, there is also a distributed package builder that can manage clusters of build servers of multiple architectures. It's how those snapshot package collections are created.
