problem concerning liboobs and dbus-glib-1

Im trying to install the newest version of liboobs (i brought this on myself) and in the process it kept crashing so I de-installed the current version and tried to again install. that was a mistake. It is looking for newer version of dbus-glib than appears to be avail. Here is the error.

Its looking for dbus-glib-1?? this doesnt appear to be available yet. I'd like to install the old version of liboobs but i updated my ports tree and its no longer avail in there. Im looking for advise on the easiest solution to this problem.

I think you have to use libra with liboobs.

This is part of devel/dbus-glib.

Easiest thing to do for that is install ports-mgmt/portdowngrade, use it to downgrade the affected ports skeleton files, then reinstall the affected ports.

Generally, it is best to treat the ports system as a whole and upgrade everything that needs upgraded at the same time. That way things like this have less chance of happening.

I deserved that. heh.

BSDKaffee: I managed to re-install the port using pkg_add. That re-installed the old version of the port luckily. I am upgrading everything but I never let it upgrade all automatic. I always do each port either one by one or in small chunks so that I can pay attention to what is going on and fix problems as they arise so that I dont break anything. Ive had trouble portupgrading all in the past so im cautious about it now.

Ive never heard of portdowngrade. I'll have to remember that for the future. I still need to find a solution to upgrading liboobs. Ive noticed that other distro's have had problems with this as well but their solutions dont work for Freebsd. This all came up because I decided to give Gnome2 a shot since im getting bored with KDE.
