... be aware of WD SmartWare rootkit:
http://www.marccizravi.com/2010/remove-wd-smartware/ ... and this 'guide' that I linked to is not able to completly remove that crap, it just disables it in some way (I do not have such drive, and its very thin chance that I will  ) wo I may not verify this.
