pkg_add problems with connecting
THis is part of my laptop install problem and this belongs here.
I have dhclient up now
and have exported the PKG_PATH variables.
ftp> nlist kde.tgz /var/tmp/pkg.00412b
pkg_add: short write: Broken pipe
p_a chdir failed
on and on until
pkg_add: no pkg found for 'kde' , sorry.
Exporting 5.0. 5.0_2008Q4 5.0_2009Q1 all produce the same output.
It crashed after an attempted install of xfce4 from Q1.
I have everything in in /usr/pkg/bin
Do I need to mv or cp for theer to be a link in /usr/localORbin?
Oh, and what is the NetBSD substitute directory for local?
Could you give us the output of the following:
echo $PKG_PATH ping -c 6 ftp.netbsd.org pkg_add -v kde
The best way to learn UNIX is to play with it, and the harder you play, the more you learn.
If you play hard enough, you'll break something for sure, and having to fix a badly broken system is arguably the fastest way of all to learn. -Michael Lucas, AbsoluteBSD
I reinstalled NetBSD with the connection,
imported and extracted the sets,
exported the PKG_PATH variables,
and have started installing different sets.
If I have anymore problems, they'll be posted here.
In relation to pkgsrc.
Thanks for the help.
