Generate xorg.conf.new and black screen
The first time that i launch the command: Xorg -configure to generate xorg.conf I noticed that appear a black screen, then I reset the VM. After i start startx without problems. Is there a way that avoids me to reset the machine to get this file (xorg.conf.new)? I have read the faq11 11.3.2 but if i choice CTRL-ALT-Backspace on GuestOS i reset the HostOS don't only the guestOS. I have used qemu. Last edited by aleunix; 4th June 2008 at 05:14 AM. |

Under qemu, you do not require xorg.conf. If you use the default video "card" of the qemu virtual machine, you will get 800x600 video. If you use -std-vga, you will get 1600x1200 video.

I use the -std-vga because when i have tried with the other the X don't start.
Also 800 * 600 pixel would be a screen too small for me. |
