Terminal background goes red

Hi,

I'm having my first experiences with a BSD and something is puzzeling me:
Using OpenBSD 4.6 in virtualbox for the time being, if I switch terminals a couple of times, the entire background of all terminals changes color from black to red.
Is this some sort of error sign? What does it mean?
I can't for the life of me find the meaning of this. Googling only results in guides on how to change prompt colors...

I have neither seen nor heard about this. It probably is VirtualBox related
If you can reproduce this on 'real hardware' we can guide you how to file a bug report.

I have seen this, when OpenBSD is a guest of Qemu under Windows. Since VirtualBox and Qemu share some code, this is not surprising.

It occurs when X11 is halted.

The OpenBSD project does not support OpenBSD as guests in virtual machines -- it may work, it may not, they don't particularly care.

As J65nko mentioned, any problem replicated on real hardware can be reported.

QEMU and VirtualBox do share a history, which could explain the issue, and due to emulation bugs some sort of erroneous "bit shift" could be happening that changes the background colour.

The developers are not enthusiastic, OpenBSD/i386 is for REAL x86 machines.. not fake ones.

That's interesting. It does also occur when I start and halt X11, but just switching through terminals without ever starting X11 already does the trick.
I was planning on trying it on real hardware soon anyway. Until then VirtualBox works well enough for me to get a little more familiar with the system.
