Seems that we have new BSD project:
http://aeriebsd.org/about.html ...but they do not specify which BSD is base for them

I'm not sure what the orientation is. It appears that (former?) OpenBSD developer mickey@ is leading the project, and Googling shows that there is an appearance that the project includes an attempt to eliminate the GNU tool chain.

Marc Balmer, another former OpenBSD developer, was also a member of AerieBSD, but he left the hurd:

Are you sure Marc has left development? He posted only last week on tech@.

Marc has also been posting to NetBSD's source-changes@ mailing list:

He left both AerieBSD and OpenBSD, but still uses it within his company it seems.. his most recent email to tech@ was a forward of what appears to be a problem a client found.
This project is just a fork by an old developer, and a very annoying troll.. Sebastian Rother. |

OpenBSD has the best support of any open source projects for HPPA even though the PA-RISC Linux was the first non proprietary system to run HPPA and was even actively supported by HP for many years. The MirBSD project leader was commenting AerieBSD on his blog. He is hopping that they would adopt MirBSD ports. That would really invigorate MirBSD project which has produced so far at least two big things Mir Korn Shell and the new BSD licensed version of Troff. |

Sebastian Rother, that name sounds familiar some how

Yes, AFAIK he is a developer for NetBSD and FreeBSD, as well as a member of X.org.

I never said Sebastian Rother founded AerieBSD, I way saying that it appears only 2 people are primarily involved with the project.. an old developer (Shalayeff).. AND "rother" aka "rembrant".
