Earlier today, I finished activating my account here. I look forward to contributing to this new, improved forum!
If I may, allow me to post this thread, echoed from Poontos in the old forum. It helps me to see something familiar. Makes it a little more like home, if you will.

Be aware of the following thread:

Although the quote above may be innocuous, it could be used as contestable material if litigation was set forth by BSDForums for archive theft. Remember, when it comes to the legal system, common sense does not necessarily prevail; interpretation of existing law & prior precedents does.

Fair enough. I did know about the old forum thread; I originally did not intend to quote it literally. Nevertheless, it won't happen again, from me at least. Thank you for the reminder, ocicat.:o
The point of my post was merely to see a familiar sight.

Sorry, you beat me to the post. I meant to add a comment when I deleted the quote:
I am honestly sorry, but the mixture of heinous rules and uncooperative administrator at BSDForums.org means that posting content written by other person in its original state from BSDForums.org is exceedingly dangerous, and therefore it can not happen here.
Sorry, but Dumb people + Dumb legal system = Stupid Situations
No sweat, though. Anyone can make the mistake.

If I am not mistaken, quoting is considered to be "fair use" under U.S. law.
Of course, what exactly is "fair use" and "copyright infringement" is rather vague and controversial at best...

If I am not mistaken, quoting
Proper quoting, but not copying. So you can do it in a proper context.

Quick return to the topic...
It seems that DaemonForums are getting close to critical mass. I no longer can read all new posts in a short amount of time. By the time I get to the end, new ones seem to appear. And they seem to be mostly good, informative posts as well.
We're on our way now!
