Hi,
I downloaded Free BSD 6.0 disc I.iso and burned it onto a disc (as per the instructions on Become Your Own Web Host in 75 Steps (http://www.publisheraid.com/hosting/Become+Your+Own+Web+Host+in+75+Steps.html))
I put the disc in the CD drive of my old dell computer and started it up... and it booted to windows, ignoring the disc. I altered the boot order in BIOS several differeny ways with the same results. I can't seem to get this computer to boot from the BSD CD.
Can anyone please help?
Edit: the machine is running windows XP

Changing the boot order in the BIOS is the correct way to boot from CD.

Can you boot the Windows install CD? If that works then something is wrong with the creation of your FreeBSD CD ;)

BTW I would recommend to use the latest production release 7.- of FreeBSD and not the out-dated 6.0 version.

Did you use a CD-R or CD-RW? Older drives often have a hard time reading CD-RW disks. Also, some details about your system would be helpful.

Did you burned a CD or DVD? DVD never worked for me.
