My production boxes are in 6.1 and 6.2, and I'm preparing to upgrade to 7.0 shortly. In order to (hopefully) get the upgrade go as smoothly as possible I've been setting up a reference system and documenting the more complex installation procedures as I go, so that when I'm upgrading the production servers, I have something to refer back to.

Below are links to my blog posts to the install steps I've posted publicly thus far. Hope they're of use for someone! :) These have been written for 7.0-RELEASE.

FreeBSD 7.0 New Install (http://my.galagzee.com/index.php/2008/06/28/freebsd-70-new-install/) (one way to do it)
FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE Kernel Optimization (http://my.galagzee.com/index.php/2008/06/28/freebsd-70-release-kernel-optimization/)
Moving var, tmp Off the Root in FreeBSD (http://my.galagzee.com/index.php/2008/06/28/moving-var-tmp-off-the-root-in-freebsd/)
Installing daemontools service supervisor on FreeBSD 7.0 (http://my.galagzee.com/index.php/2008/06/30/installing-daemontools-service-supervisor-on-freebsd-70/)
Installing bcron on FreeBSD 7.0 (http://my.galagzee.com/index.php/2008/06/30/installing-bcron-on-freebsd-70/)

I'll post scponly jail installation documentation soon.
