Hey all!

Hardware: Dell PowerEdge 2650 [Latest BIOS A21]

Problem: Every time I load the amd64 CD it hangs after trying to load the kernel from CD.

I have tried all the normal things such as removing USB objects, ACPI options, and various BIOS options.

boot -c w/ disable acpi has no effect either.

I have Googled around and have not run into anyone with a similar issue. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free :)

EDIT: Sorry Was ment for NetBSD Install Forum

Thanks tad1214 :)

Yes I verified the Checksum already, and the memory passes without issue

EDIT: For shits I removed 4 gigs of ram and left 2 -- Same hanging issue

I don't think those are 64-bit processors.

2650 shows no 64bit processor

2850 shows Nocona-based Xeon processor Intel EM64T technology

Well I came to the same conclusion -- Go figure :)

Time to research PAE on NetBSD -- I assume thats the only way to use 6gb of ram on i386?

Thanks!

Another alternative is those boxes support spare sticks of ram for fail over, maybe something to look into?
