is it possible that when you click a link on the forum to be opened in a new tab/window. Some of you might say "you can hold down Ctrl and the link opens in a new tab" at least Firefox does this. Sometimes you just forget to hold down the Ctrl button and it is annoying IMHO. This is a suggestion and i am asking your opinion about this. What do you think?
i have noticed that links to threads in the forum open in a new tab but wiki and man don't. thank you.

Here, using Opera, I 95 percent of the time right-click-open-in-new-tab
that way I can open 10 in a row then resume browsing.
in fact I only actually click on a link maybe once a day ??? unsure
when I *have to* click on links (IE etc) it is maddening
....
just my opinion though

Opening links in new windows is (very) poor web UI design.

I believe middle-click also opens a link in a new tab.

I agree with you that opening in new window is poor web design but what do you think about opening in new tab?

It is the same thing, the current HTML/CSS standard provides no way of opening links in new tabs, if links that are opening in new tabs it is because your browser is configured to do so.
Besides, opening links in new tabs is equal bad UI design.

Which browser are you using? Can't you use the middle button or something?

i'm using firefox on mac and i don't have a middle button. but i can live with it there's no problem. i am not good at web UI design, if you say that opening links in new tabs is bad i believe you. to me it's more ergonomic to open them in new tabs. anyway this was a suggestion and apparently not a good one.
thanks once again.
